US spot Bitcoin ETFs: a nine-day inflow run ends with a $148.7 million net outflow on 30 September — what the data records, and what it does not
According to Farside data, US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded net inflows on nine consecutive trading days from 17 to 29 September 2026, totalling about $3.1 billion, followed by a $148.7 million net outflow on 30 September and a $102.7 million net inflow on 1 October. This article documents the figures and their limits.

Spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the United States publish their share creations and redemptions every trading day. Data aggregators add these up into a daily "net flow" figure. This article records the daily totals for the second half of September 2026 as published by Farside Investors, cross-checked with The Block and SoSoValue.

The nine positive days from 17 to 29 September add up to $3,075.5 million on Farside's figures. The Block describes the run as a "$3.1 billion net inflow streak". The week of 21–25 September alone adds up to about $2.39 billion.
30 September and 1 October by fund
On 30 September, The Block reported combined net outflows of $148.7 million: IBIT −$9.5 million, FBTC −$125.6 million and BITB −$13.6 million. According to SoSoValue data cited by The Crypto Times, none of the 12 funds recorded an inflow that day.
On 1 October, Farside lists IBIT +$195.6 million, FBTC −$60.7 million and GBTC −$31.4 million, for a total of +$102.7 million.
Monthly and cumulative figures
- September 2026, Bitcoin ETFs: about $2.65 billion net inflow (SoSoValue, via The Crypto Times);
- cumulative net inflow since January 2024: $57,667 million in Farside's table; SoSoValue gives $57.58 billion. The sources differ slightly.
The price, for reference
The Block reported Bitcoin "trading at around $83,950" on the morning of 1 October (article dated 08:17 EDT). CoinGecko's daily historical table lists $84,842 for 1 October and $83,576 for 30 September (daily, UTC-based). Different exchanges quote different prices at the same moment.
What the data does not say
Fund flows show how many ETF shares were created or redeemed. They do not show who bought or sold, or why. They do not show that flows caused any price move, in either direction. Totals differ between Farside, The Block and SoSoValue because each source tracks and revises the data differently; a missing or zero value can be a late report rather than no activity. Nine days of inflows do not describe what the next day will bring. The data contains no forecast.
Why we read it this way
For any market data point we separate three things: what is measured (here, net share creations), over which period, and against what baseline. The same approach underlies the sourced data on Market Observation and is taught in the Crypto Academy.
